Dear Cove Creek Community,
We are collecting gently used shoes to raise money for our horticulture class. Every pair of shoes you bring in will be donated to a marketplace around the world. Please donate your gently used shoes today!
Just think about it, your shoes could be another person’s first pair.
Thank you, The Horticulture Class

Thank you to Mrs. Kim McAulay and all the wonderful parents and volunteers who give of their time to help mentor and work along side these creative minds, engineers and future problem solvers of the world.
C - Be a Responsible Citizen
C - Make Good Choices
S - Achieve Success
We have always had an awesome school and have recognized students for their positive behavior, good choices and successes. But now we have raised the bar and put an added emphasis on those same expectations as they pertain to the classroom, the cafeteria, the bathrooms, our hallways, the playground and the bus.
In addition to classroom rewards, teachers in all areas can now catch individual students following the expectations and give them a Red Raider. Classrooms of students can be given White Raiders for demonstrating these achievements. Individual classrooms are having celebrations when they meet their White Raider goal. Also, posters are being placed in the six areas to remind everyone of the expectations. We are very proud of the great things that are happening as a result of PBIS at Cove Creek. Keep up the good work students!
Thursday, December 17th, 6:30-8:30pm
Plan now to attend!
Future Family Skate Night dates will be announced in December. So stay tuned!

A Reading and Rolling Celebration
Watauga County elementary students participated in Reading and Rolling again this past summer. Sponsored by the Friends of the Watauga County Library, Reading and Rolling is a program which encourages the love of reading through the delivery of books to students in their homes. For the past twelve summers, volunteers have each made four deliveries to approximately sixty children who might not be able to get to a library.
On October 7, Ms. Carolyn Dell Walters, librarian at Cove Creek Elementary School, hosted a Reading and Rolling celebration in her library. She invited the public librarians who worked so hard to fill those 60 book sacks every two weeks. Ms. Walters also included the volunteers who delivered books in the Cove Creek area, but the most important guests were the twenty three students who completed the summer program.
In the photo Cove Creek students are holding new books which were presented to the school in their honor. Friends of the Library funded the book purchases for all participating schools.
We are Wolverine Proud!
Thank you players, coaching staff and cheerleaders for all the hard work and effort which went into this season.
